Services & Approach

What counselling approaches do you use?
I use a client-centred, trauma-informed approach, incorporating evidence-based techniques such as mindfulness, Strengths based, Narrative, Art and Animal-assisted therapies.

How can therapy help me?
Therapy provides a safe and supportive space to explore emotions, develop coping strategies, and find clarity during life's transitions. Whether you're facing grief, adjusting to ageing, or experiencing carer stress, I offer guidance and practical support.

What is animal-assisted therapy, and how does Oakley help in sessions?
Animal-assisted therapy uses trained animals to provide comfort, support, and connection, helping individuals improve emotional well-being and reduce stress. Oakley, my registered therapy dog, provides comfort, companionship, and emotional support. His presence can reduce anxiety, ease loneliness, and help create a relaxed environment for healing.

How does art therapy work, and do I need to be artistic?
Art therapy is a way to express emotions through creative activities like painting, drawing, or collage. No artistic skills are needed—it’s about the process, not the final product.
